Good news for fans of Beyoncé and emojis: the jack-of-all-trades pop star is now selling T-shirts emblazoned with emojis playing off lyrics from two of her new Beyoncé songs.
As Fader spotted, for $40, you can now own a white tee with a surfboarder emoji and the word "SURFBOARD," playing off the meme-ified "Drunk In Love" lyric. Not your thing? Grab a a black one with cherry emojis and her song title "BLOW." You can buy both T-shirts at Beyoncé’s official website.
Confused what Queen Bey and emojis have to do with one another? Earlier this spring, a fan created a viral emoji-centric video for "Drunk In Love," essentially recreating the song’s racy lyrics using the colorful — and hilariously adolescent — SMS graphics. While Beyoncé has yet to officially comment on the video, all signs point to her approval – or at least ability to recognize a good business opportunity when it presents itself.
Following her tabloid-frenzy elevator ordeal with husband Jay Z and sister Solange, Beyoncé turned her attention back to her craft, releasing a star-studded action film trailer for their upcoming On the Run summer tour with husband Jay Z that kicks off in Miami at the end of June. The video features a balaclava-sporting Beyoncé, a smack-talking Jay and cameos from Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Don Cheadle and Blake Lively.
The singer recently reunited with Destiny’s Child for group member Michelle Williams’ latest single "Say Yes." "[Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé] received an advance copy of the album and called, saying, 'We love "When Jesus Says Yes"… there has to be a Destiny's Child mix of the song,'" Williams said of the origins of the unofficial girl-group reunion. "Kelly did it and Beyoncé got right in the studio and did her part. I kept it a secret because I didn't want anyone to know until it was time."
